Small Group Tanzania Safari
The classic northern circuit — Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro — on a scheduled group departure. 4-8 clients, one vehicle, expert guiding, and a fraction of the private safari cost. Departures every Friday from Arusha.
Trip Highlights
“I was hesitant about a group safari — worried it would feel impersonal. In reality, the shared experience made it better. We were four couples who hadn't met before, and by day three we were sharing binoculars and WhatsApping each other photos. The cost saving over a private safari was significant and the experience was not compromised at all.”
Your journey
Day by Day

Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Depart Arusha after breakfast for Tarangire National Park — approximately 2 hours by road. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and predator density. The park is less visited than the Serengeti, which means the game drives feel more private. First game drive on arrival, focusing on the Tarangire River and the swamp areas where wildlife concentrates in the dry season.

Tarangire to Central Serengeti
Morning game drive in Tarangire before departing for the Serengeti. The drive takes approximately 4 hours from Tarangire to the central Serengeti via the highlands. Arrive at the Serengeti in the afternoon and begin game driving immediately. The Serengeti is at its most dramatic in the central plains — the openness of the landscape, the wildlife density, and the quality of light make an immediate impression.

Full Day Serengeti — Northern Plains
Full day in the central Serengeti exploring the plains, the riverine areas, and the rocky outcrops (kopjes) that dot the landscape. Your guide will position the group based on current wildlife sightings reported by the park radio network. Lions, leopards, cheetah, elephant, and giraffe are all resident in the central area. The migration, when present, adds hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra to the landscape.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Morning game drive in the Serengeti before departing for Ngorongoro via the highlands. The drive down into the Ngorongoro Crater is one of the great moments in African wildlife tourism — the scale of the crater, the soda lake, and the wildlife below is genuinely overwhelming. Descend to the crater floor for an afternoon game drive. The crater floor has the highest predator density in Tanzania.

Ngorongoro Crater — Full Day
Full day on the Ngorongoro Crater floor. The crater is 19 km across and 600 metres deep — a self-contained ecosystem with a permanent water supply that sustains an extraordinary density of wildlife. Lions, hyenas, elephant, buffalo, hippo, flamingo on the lake, and the rare black rhino are all resident. The crater rim rises above at 2,400 metres, providing a dramatic backdrop to every shot.

Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara
Morning departure from Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park — a 2-hour drive. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large buffalo and elephant herds, and the dramatic groundwater forest that lines the lake shore. The park is compact (330 km squared) but productive — a half-day game drive covers the main wildlife areas. Flamingo are present on the lake year-round.

Lake Manyara to Arusha
Morning game drive in Lake Manyara for a final wildlife session. After the drive, depart for Arusha — approximately 2 hours by road. Arrive Arusha for lunch and afternoon at leisure. Optional activities in Arusha: coffee tour, Maasai market visit, or relax before the international flight the following day.

Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport
Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (approximately 1 hour from Arusha) for international departure. For clients extending to Zanzibar, a beach extension can be arranged — the contrast from safari to the Indian Ocean is the natural conclusion to a Tanzania trip. Alternatively, add a Kilimanjaro climb extension.
