10-Day Tanzania Safari
The definitive Tanzania safari. Four nights in the Serengeti, two at Ngorongoro, plus Tarangire and Lake Manyara. Every major northern park, private vehicle, all-inclusive.
Trip Highlights
“Ten days was the right call. By day four in the Serengeti, our guide knew exactly what we wanted to see. The extra Ngorongoro night meant we got the crater at first light with almost no one else. Worth every dollar over the 7-day option.”
Your journey
Day by Day

Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Collected from Arusha or KIA. Drive south to Tarangire. Afternoon game drive through the baobab corridor. Tarangire has the highest elephant density of any park in Tanzania — up to 3,000 elephants use the river during dry season. Evening at the lodge.

Full Day Tarangire
Full day, two game drives. Morning in the northern sector (elephants, lion, leopard). Afternoon south towards the Silale Swamps where predators concentrate around water. Tarangire is underrated — most visitors rush through to the Serengeti and miss what is arguably Tanzania best elephant park.

Tarangire to Lake Manyara
Drive north along the Rift Valley escarpment to Lake Manyara (1.5 hours). Manyara is compact — you can cover it in a single afternoon and see a remarkable variety. Tree-climbing lions rest in the yellow fever trees above the groundwater forest. The alkaline lake hosts flamingo flocks that turn the shoreline pink. 400+ bird species recorded here.

Lake Manyara to Central Serengeti
Morning drive in Manyara. Then drive west, climbing the Ngorongoro highlands before descending into the Serengeti ecosystem. The transition from highland forest to open savanna is one of the great landscape moments in Africa. First game drive in the central Serengeti en route to camp.

Full Day Serengeti — Seronera Valley
The Seronera Valley floor. Morning drive targeting the kopje lion prides and the Seronera River leopards. Your guide will have scouted movements from the evening before. Afternoon drive along the river — hippo pools, crocodiles, and the late afternoon golden light that makes every photograph look extraordinary.

Full Day Serengeti — Migration Positioning
Day 3 in the Serengeti. Your guide repositions based on latest intel from park rangers and fellow guides. July to October: north to the Mara River. January to February: south to Ndutu calving grounds. Year-round: the Seronera cheetah territories, the open plains east of Seronera, or a morning tracking wild dogs.

Full Day Serengeti — Deep Drive
Your fourth day. By now your guide knows your preferences. Some clients want to spend the morning with a specific lion pride they have been tracking for three days. Some want to try a new area. The 4th Serengeti day is the most personally tailored — you have context now, and the guide has calibrated to you.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Final Serengeti morning drive. Drive east to Ngorongoro, climbing to the crater rim (2,300m). Arrive at the rim in the afternoon. Sundowner with crater views across the 19km caldera. Dinner at the rim lodge — hippos can sometimes be heard from the crater floor after dark.

Full Day Ngorongoro Crater
Descend at first light. The crater floor is a complete ecosystem: 25,000 animals, all Big Five, approximately 30 endangered black rhino — the most reliable rhino sighting in East Africa. Full day on the floor with a picnic lunch. Ascend late afternoon. Second evening at the rim with fresh perspective after a full day inside.

Ngorongoro to Arusha
Morning game drive in the Conservation Area or crater overlook walk. Drive back to Arusha (3.5 hours). Airport or hotel drop-off. Optional: Arusha coffee plantation visit or Cultural Heritage Centre en route.
