What Our Travellers Say

These travellers booked directly with us — no travel agent, no broker markup. Their trips were planned entirely through WhatsApp and our planning tools.

★★★★★
Kassim answered every WhatsApp message personally, within hours. The safari itself was extraordinary — we saw all Big Five in the first three days. Booking direct saved us the 30% that brokers charge.

The logistics were seamless: every pickup, every transfer, every meal was exactly where and when Kassim said it would be. We have used three other safari operators. This was the best.

★★★★★
I booked directly after comparing prices. The transparency was remarkable — every other operator quoted 25–35% higher. The vehicle was better equipped than any I had used through big operators.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book my Tanzania safari?

For peak season (July–October and December–January), book 3–6 months ahead to secure your preferred accommodations and vehicles. For shoulder season, 4–8 weeks is usually sufficient. Last-minute bookings are possible but limited — peak season lodges sell out 2–3 months in advance. See our full booking timeline guide for month-by-month recommendations.

What is included in the safari price?

Every Safaris Tanzania itinerary includes: private 4x4 vehicle with driver/guide, all park entry fees, crater conservation fees, accommodation (based on your chosen tier), meals as specified, bottled water in the vehicle, and airport transfers. International flights, visas, tips, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included.

Can I customise the safari itinerary?

Yes — every itinerary we design is custom. After you complete the quiz, tell us your preferences and we will build a day-by-day plan with exact pricing. We adjust duration, parks visited, accommodation tier, and activities to match your group size, budget, and interests.

What group sizes do you operate?

Safaris Tanzania operates private safaris only — your group, your vehicle, your schedule. We do not mix your group with strangers. Solo travellers are welcome and can join existing group departures by request.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer (USD, EUR, GBP), credit card (Visa, Mastercard — 3% processing fee), and PayPal. A 30% deposit secures your booking; the balance is due 45 days before departure.

Is it safe to travel to Tanzania?

Tanzania is a stable and welcoming destination for tourists. The northern safari circuit (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara) is heavily touristed and considered very safe. We provide 24/7 in-country support, and all our vehicles carry satellite phones for remote area communication.

What is the best age for children on a Tanzania safari?

Most guides recommend children be at least 5 years old for game drives. Younger children can become restless during long drives and need to stay quiet near wildlife. Our 5-Day Family Safari is specifically designed for families with younger children — shorter drives, lodge-based accommodation, and a flexible pace. Children under 16 receive discounted park fees in Tanzania. <a href="/blog/tanzania-safari-with-kids-complete-guide/" class="text-forest underline hover:text-amber transition-colors">Read our complete family safari guide with kids.</a>

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?

Yes — we can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, kosher, and halal diets with advance notice. Most tented camps and lodges have experience with special dietary requirements. Please let us know at the booking stage so we can notify all camps in advance. Severe allergies (e.g. peanut) require advance documentation and we will ensure your guide carries an EpiPen.

What is the cancellation policy?

We require a 30% deposit to confirm a booking. Cancellations made 45+ days before departure receive a full deposit refund minus a $104 admin fee. Cancellations within 45 days forfeit the deposit. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation. We do not charge cancellation fees beyond the deposit retention policy. <a href="/blog/tanzania-safari-insurance-requirements/" class="text-forest underline hover:text-amber transition-colors">See our Tanzania safari insurance guide.</a>

What happens if I need to cancel due to medical reasons?

Medical cancellations are handled case-by-case. If you have travel insurance (which we strongly recommend), your insurer will typically cover cancellation costs. If you need to cancel for a documented medical emergency, we will work with you to reschedule your safari to a later date at no additional cost, subject to accommodation availability.

Do I need vaccinations or health precautions for Tanzania?

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if arriving from a yellow fever endemic country. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for the northern circuit (consult your travel clinic). Standard vaccinations (tetanus, hepatitis A) should be up to date. We provide a detailed health guide with every booking confirmation. <a href="/blog/tanzania-safari-health-guide/" class="text-forest underline hover:text-amber transition-colors">Read our full Tanzania safari health guide.</a>

What is the single supplement for solo travellers?

Solo travellers pay a single supplement of approximately 40–60% above the per-person rate because all safari costs (vehicle, guide, accommodation single room) are absorbed by one person rather than split. We can sometimes pair solo travellers with compatible others heading to the same destination on similar dates — WhatsApp Kassim to check current availability.

What is fly camping? Is it the same as a regular safari?

Fly camping — also called a fly camp or fly-tenting — is the lightest, most portable form of mobile safari. You sleep in a simple tent or under canvas in a mobile bush camp deep in the parks, with no permanent infrastructure. It is the most authentic safari experience we offer — popular as an extension to a standard safari itinerary. <a href="/fly-camping-tanzania-safari/" class="text-forest underline hover:text-amber transition-colors">See our dedicated fly camping guide.</a>

Why book direct

Why Use a Safari Quiz Instead of Booking Online?

Online booking platforms let you choose from pre-packaged itineraries. The quiz connects you directly with an operator who will build exactly what you need. Here is why that matters.

Built Around Your Trip, Not a Package

There is no such thing as a 'standard' safari that works for everyone. Your ideal safari depends on your travel dates, group composition, budget, fitness level, what you want to see, and how you travel. The quiz captures the details that matter, and Kassim builds the itinerary around them — not the other way around.

Exact Pricing Upfront

When you complete the quiz, we send an itemised quote — vehicle cost, park fees, accommodation tier, and total. No hidden extras. No surprise charges added after you book. The quote you receive is the price you pay. See current market rates in our <a href='/blog/how-much-does-tanzania-safari-cost/' className='text-amber underline'>2026 Tanzania safari cost guide</a>.

Talk to the Operator Directly

When you WhatsApp Kassim after the quiz, you are speaking to the person who owns the vehicles, employs the guides, and is personally responsible for your safari experience. Not a call centre agent reading from a script. Not a broker in another country. The operator who will deliver what was promised.

48 Years of In-Country Knowledge

Kassim's family has been operating safaris since 1978. Our guides have an average of 12 years of field experience. We know which camp managers respond quickly, which roads flood in April, where the cheetah mothers den in February. This knowledge goes into every itinerary we design — and it is not available from any online booking platform.

No Conflict of Interest

The quiz is designed to identify what you actually need. If a shorter safari is better for your situation, Kassim will say so. If a budget safari is right for you, he will recommend it. We make money by earning repeat customers and referrals — not by upselling you to the most expensive package.

Support Doesn't End at Booking

Once you start a conversation with us, that relationship continues through the entire trip. If your flight is delayed, if you want to change an activity, if something is not as expected on the ground — you have Kassim's direct number. That level of support is not available from any online booking platform or international travel agent.
