If you found us on TripAdvisor or Google as Safaris Tanzania, you are in the right place. We are a family-owned safari operator based in Arusha — running the same safaris we have run since 1978, just without the European middleman.
Safaris Tanzania is the name that appears on our TripAdvisor listing and Google Business Profile. Our trading and website name is Safaris Tanzania — but we are the same company. When you book with us, you are booking directly with the ground operator whose vehicles and guides have been serving Tanzania travellers since before the internet existed.
We started in 1978 with one Land Rover and a simple idea: give travellers a genuine Tanzanian safari experience, run by Tanzanians who know the land intimately, at a fair price without European commission markups. That idea has not changed. What has changed is the scale — we now operate a fleet of custom 4x4 Land Cruisers, employ over 120 Tanzanian staff, and guide thousands of travellers through Tanzania every year.
Three generations of the Abdallah family now work in the business. Kassim Abdallah, the founder, still manages operations personally. His sons handle vehicle maintenance and guide training. When you travel with us, you are not a client number in a booking system — you are a guest of a family that has spent nearly 50 years perfecting how to show a traveller the real Tanzania.
